Sathya Yoga Classes

Sathya Yoga Studio is the foundation for your personal transformation and journey, that you've been looking for. Our classes are offered in both English and Spanish and provide more than just healthy living and fitness. You are about to embark on a physical and spiritual journey with like-minded people, who share the same passion as you. Most of the classes are collaborative and online, where we can interact as a community before and after the practice. Other times many of the yoga-streams  are available as recordings by a monthly subscription, so you will have the opportunity to jump into your practice at any time.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga, the modern daughter of Ashtanga. This style follows a pattern of  linking one pose to another synchronizing your breathing to movement. This allows the practitioner to create a different sequence every time. Vinyasa provides dynamism, balance, flexibility and functional strength- moving creatively in ways that we normally would not. The constant breathing in movements increase the heart rate and generate heat. It's a meditative dance, in which you move around the mat, gracefully. Vinyasa yoga is unpredictable, challenging but enjoyable like life- A beautiful self-exploration!  This class is perfect for beginners or the more advanced practitioner. We have lots of fun and the sequence of poses is always different and dynamic. All of our courses are offered in both English and Spanish. Yoga Kurunta

Kurunta means puppet and is a method where one learns to manipulate oneself in a variety of asanas, with the help of ropes. Most times you are suspended like a puppet, but at the same time the practitioner becomes the puppeteer to enable you to attain accuracy, agility, strength and balance. The various configurations of the ropes help to immediately bring attention to various aspects and actions within the pose. The source and inspiration for this practice stems from the teachings of BKS Iyengar, who developed methods of approaching even the most challenging asana with intelligence.  His daughter, Geeta dedicated a section of her book, Yoga A Gem for Women, to the use of ropes.  She explained that in a ropes practice, “one gains agility, lightness of body, speed in movement and alertness in the brain.”  All of our courses are offered in both English and Spanish. Alignment Yoga with Props

This is a form of yoga exercise with an emphasis on detailed precision and alignment in the performance of yoga postures, based on the teachings of B.K.S Iyengar. This class often makes use of props, such as chairs, walls, straps, blocks, blankets. This yoga practice is for EVERYONE, but can be especially restorative and therapeutic for beginning students, the elderly, or those with physical limitations. This is because of how the props and straps help in minimizing the risk of injury or strain. In order to properly practice this style of yoga, you must first understand the right alignment of the whole body, paying attention to the bone structure, circulation, joints, and muscles. All of this combined, makes the vital energy flow through the whole body providing  maximum health and wellness for the participant. All of our courses are offered in both English and Spanish. Our Story

Owner and Instructor, Gigi, has been teaching yoga for over 20 years and prior to that had a career in professional dance. Sathya Yoga Studio's mission is to offer participants the benefits , the blissfulness and the awareness that grows from practicing Yoga, not only that hour spent on the mat, but also the other 23  hours of each day.
